- What do you consider your home town and why? Monrovia. Born and raised.
- When did you realize you wanted to be a barber? During beauty school I noticed that I was drawn more to doing men’s hair. I was recommended by someone at the school to start shadowing a barber and after a bit of hesitation I went for it and here I am.
- What did you do before barbering? Full time student
- What were your biggest challenges becoming a barber? Biggest struggle was that I didn’t have anyone to directly teach me barbering. Everything I learned was from watching other barbers. Another struggle was being young and female which made it hard for clients to trust that I knew what I was doing.
- What have been the best memory/ Memories of your journey? Meeting my husband – The day I got my barbers license
- What do you enjoy the most about barbering? The great Conversations I have with my clients
- What is your passion/ hobby outside of barbering? Doing my own home renovations
- How many years experience do you have cutting hair? 4 years as of 2021
- What do you love most about the barber industry? I love that you can be yourself. What that looks like is being able to dress how i want, create the conversations you want and choose the clients and coworkers you truly want to be around
- What was the first haircut you were comfortable with? Skin fade
- What are the 3 haircuts you enjoy doing the most? Medium Skin Fade – Combover – Buzz cut
- What service do you least enjoy doing? Full face shave
- What do you think are the three most popular haircuts today? Taper – Combover – Skin fade
- What is your favorite boys haircut/ kids haircut? Classic comb over with hair on the sides
- What is your favorite hair product (pomade, gel, wax, clay, Matt etc…) and hair product brand and why? Gel. It lays hair down better than anything else. GelTek. Has the best hold
- What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? Still cutting hair. Creating a side business and having Children.
- What is your favorite quote and why? “Love holds no record of wrongs.” This quote helps me not judge others and/or hold grudges.
