ABOUT BLANCA
- What do you consider your home town and why? West Covina. I’ve lived there most of my life.
- When did you realize you wanted to be a barber? Since I was about 12/13 years old. It started when I would help my mom style her hair and it was always something I desired.
- What did you do before barbering? I was a display decorator at lamps plus.
- What were your biggest struggles becoming a barber, and/or biggest sacrifices? Having to juggle being a mom, a full-time student, and with little income.
- What have been the best memories of your journey in becoming a barber? Some of my best memories come from being with my clients and learning different haircuts.
- What do you enjoy the most about barbering? Creating a haircut and seeing the result. I also enjoy conversations with my clients.
- What is your passion/ hobby outside of barbering? Working out, cooking, spending time with my daughters, going to the beach, and keeping a clean home.
- How many years experience do you have cutting hair? 11 years as of 2021
- What do you love most about the barber industry? Hair shows and learning about all the different tools and products.
- What was the first haircut you were comfortable with? High 0 fade
- What are the 3 haircuts you enjoy doing the most? Scissor cut – Skin Fade – Hair texturing
- What do you think are the three most popular haircuts today? 0 Fade – Skin fade- High fades
- What is your favorite boy’s haircut/kid’s haircut? A classic scissor Haircut
- What is your favorite hair product (pomade, gel, wax, clay, Matt, etc…) and hair product brand and why? Gel. I enjoy the wet look. I also like blow-drying the hair with a hairspray finish. My favorite brand is Bandido USA. It holds thick hair the best.
- What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? Still doing what I’m doing now.
- What is something you would like your clients to know? That I’m open to constructive criticism. My intention is to get it right the first time.
- If you could give one message to the world what would it be? “Enjoy every day as if it was your last. Live to the fullest”
